The exhibit features more than fifty outfits belonging to the blond bombshell, many of them on loan from private collections around the world that have never before been shown to a public audience. The exhibit includes the pink satin gown Monroe famously wore during her famous "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" musical number that was seen in "Gentlemen Prefer Blonds." In fact just about the only iconic Marilyn Monroe dress not shown in the original is the crystal studded nude gown she wore to celebrate President John F. Kennedy's birthday at Madison Square Garden. The gown, which was so skin tight the actress had to be sewn into it and cut out after her performance, is simply too fragile to be exhibited. It's hard to imagine anything could upstage these classic film looks that remain such a part of the iconography of Hollywood glamour even today but Marilyn's shoes are as much of a draw as the movie costumes and private articles of clothing. Visitor after visitor to the museum comments on the slender Swarovski crystal encrusted red heels that were custom made for the star by Salvatore Ferragamo himself. The red stilettos are just one of many of the shoes shown in the exhibit that were custom made for Marilyn Monroe by Salvatore Ferragamo. Her obsession with Ferragamo's shoe designs have been credited with putting the designer on the fashion map. Marilyn, more petite than her big onscreen presence let on, stood just a few inches over five feet tall. In her custom Salvatore Ferragamo heels she'd hit five feet seven or higher. Ferragamo had an obsession of his own to make his shoes staggeringly beautiful but still comfortable to walk in. After beginning his shoe making career creating looks for the movies he walked away to study anatomy. After his education Ferragamo came up with an ingenious design mixing wood and metal in his shoe designs for Marilyn Monroe to make extremely thin heels that were light and comfortable to stand in for long periods of time. The exhibit lays to rest at least one persistent myth about Monroe's manufactured look. While legend has long stated that Marilyn had her shoes custom made by Ferragamo with one heel shorter than the other to give her a distinctive wiggle walk each shoe in the exhibit shows heels of the exact same length. A limited edition replica of Marilyn's Salvatore Ferragamo red crystal pumps, identical to those the actress wore in "There's no Business Like Show Business," have been created in honor of the exhibit. They are available exclusively in the museum's gift shop. As part of the Marilyn Monroe exhibit the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum has released a new book featuring images of the legendary actress, many of them never before published. The book was edited by museum director Stefania Ricci and art critic Sergio Risaliti. It will be available at bookstores on September 25th. The hardcover book is currently up for pre order online here. The Salvatore Ferragamo Museum is located in Florence, Italy. The Marilyn Monroe exhibit will be held through January 28, 2013. The only jeans that have a label that looks like a doodle of a cloud is none other than the evisu jeans. And here an added fact, the evisu was founded not in the US or in Paris, but in Japan, Osaka Japan to be exact. Other than advanced technology, Japan is also becoming the most fashionable country in the world. Japan is currently in the process of joining the few countries that are said to be called as a fashion central such as Milan or Paris. And among of its many fashionable clothing lines are the evisu jeans. The evisu or evisu genes is a Japanese clothing company that specializes in producing premium denim wear through traditional, labor intensive methods. The brand was founded in 1998 in Osaka, Japan by Hidehiko Yamane a Japanese clothes designer, and the man behind the popular clothing brand evisu clothing line. The evisu branded jeans were originally called Evis which is the name of the Buddhist god of prosperity, but was eventually changed to what we all know today as evisu genes. The logo in the evisu is apparently not a doodle of a cloud, but a doodle of a seagull, and is still hand painted onto some styles of jeans. The evisu genes makes extensive use of heavy, premium quality selvedge denim, produced on 29 inch wide vintage looms. And in addition to jeans, the evisu genes also makes some evisu t shirts, evisu sweatshirts, evisu jackets, evisu shoes, and evisu accessories. The evisu clothing line, like all clothing famous clothing lines, also suffered some scandals. In March, 2006, the evisu clothing line and Yamane was reported to Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Office along with another firm on suspicion of tax evasion. Yamane and the two firms stand accused of concealing more than 500 million yen of income as well as evading some 160 million yen in taxes over three years. So, if you like contact them on Wikibooks and invite them here, ok Erkan Yilmaz (my talk page, wiki blog) 10:07, 30 September 2007 (UTC)Well, my nick is publunch and my home page is here. I studied philosophy at The Open University, and at Birkbeck College which is part of the University of London, and at the University of Sussex, all based in England. The Open University pioneered 'distance learning', and I found that worked for me. Birkbeck College is a college specialising in part time and evening education, while the University of Sussex is a more conventional university. I think I can get quite enthusiastic about the Wikiversity as a new venture bringing learning to places it would not otherwise reach, pioneering in the same kind of way as The Open University has done. After leaving Sussex University, I had a nervous breakdown from which I have not yet fully recovered, and perhaps helping make Wikiversity happen will help me regain some kind of confidence. As nobody expects me to do paid work at the moment, I may have time to help make Wikiversity happen. I am afraid I know very little about Wikimedia projects, but I can hopefully contribute to the contents in the School of Philosophy and the School of Physics.(Alex beta 19:11, 27 Nov 2004 (UTC))Hello. I am John Doyle, and have an interest in Bioethics. I invite contributions to the Bioethics section. By way of background, I am an academic anesthesiologist. In 2004 I received a graduate certificate in bioethics from Cleveland State University. [1]. I am more than happy to attempt to answer any questions, or lead people in the right direction. I hope to add content in the coming months, but at the moment I am trying to tidy the Philosophy School up, and making it navicable. Cheers! Abc123 12:10, 28 Jun 2005 (UTC)Hello to all in wikiland, I'm new to the wiki experience, but I do think that this is a great idea, and I have a passion for philosophy, particularly the later Wittgenstein and a smattering of Continental thinkers (Derrida, Deleuze and Heidegger being my current favorites). Something in it lit a fire under my butt. Now I'm an undergrad at the University of Western Ontario, almost finished an honors BA. Afterwards I plan to go into journalism.Timothy J Scriven[edit]Hey. I am 17 years old and hence have no formal degrees. Nevertheless Philosophy is a subject which has consumed most of my spare time for the last four years now. I am going to construct a broad readings course based on "The classics" ( the critique of pure reason, the blue and brown books etc). I also plan to create a philosophy of mind and a philosophy of religion course. When I get a bit of time I plan to do a "Philosophy and poetry" course which I will run at both the English department and here. Like the nifty guy above me I'm 17 years old and therefore have nothing with which to prove my credibility to all of you wonderful people involved here. My username is TheoryWIZ (I also enjoy music theory, if you couldn't extrapolate that one), and I'm pretty new to Wikipedia in general, so please forgive me if I need some help starting out. Although in about four days I will officially have course credits worth half a semester for a philosophy class I am enrolled in and currently hold an A average (wish me luck on my final). I guess it must be weird to have a high school student in a philosophy class but my school provides it, so I jumped on the opportunity as soon as I could. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to helping build this project with all of you. Unfortunately, my free time is extremely limited as a junior involved in APs and theatre (technical crew) among other things, so my contributions may be a bit limited until I can get back on solid ground. I would really like to work specifically in the fields of free will and Existentialism, for I was really moved by my studies of those topics. I was also thinking about a philosophy in music course, which is something that both my teacher and I feel is overlooked at times. Anyway I look forward to working with you all!

Purchase higher quality, aesthetically pleasing displays to grace storefront windows and attract customers. In the store, tall shelving units efficiently display shoeboxes with small extended platforms for displaying shoes outside of their boxes; this helps feature new or popular shoes. Walk up displays scattered throughout the stores help steer customer traffic and can feature seasonal items, such as boots during winter or flip flops during summer. You'll also want store signage to let customers know your store name and hours of operation. Like any business, shoe businesses require basic office necessities. Computers assist with ordering, while point of sale software facilitates smooth business transactions. Security cameras ensure that customers don't make off with pricey shoes without paying. Phones, fax machines and scanners for price tag reading will also be needed. Air Jordan 13 Birmingham Barons Every day men and women consult with their doctors with regard to their health problems. When people schedule an appointment with their physicians they are planning to go to the doctor's office because they hope that they will be healed from what ails them. However, even physicians make mistakes. Unfortunately, some of these mistakes can result in life changing, permanent, or even fatal injuries. The Institute of Medicine conservatively estimates that medical errors are the 8th leading cause of death in the United States. Medical errors could be prevented. In addition to lives that have been changed or lost, medical errors cost the country approximately $17 billion per year. One area that affects thousands of women and the ones they love every day is breast cancer. When a health care provider fails to properly diagnose a patient who has breast cancer the results can be devastating. A possible reason that the failure to properly diagnose or to misdiagnose breast cancer is so common is that the medical community for the most part has the preconceived notion that the only older women are at risk and that these women also have a family history of breast cancer. The Physicians Insurers Association of America did a study and found that the three main reasons that doctors misdiagnose breast cancer are: 1. Doctors do not take women seriously when these women describe the symptoms of breast cancer. 2. Even if the patient says that she has felt a lump many doctors still heavily rely on negative mammogram results. 3. Physicians place too much emphasis on a woman's age as a factor for predicting breast cancer. What is the Best Way to Detect Breast Cancer? The key to early detection of breast cancer is to regularly test for it. If you can spot the signs early you will greatly improve your chances for a total recovery. The two best ways to test for breast cancer are by having regular mammograms and by doing a thorough self exam each and every month. To put things into perspective about how important early detection is, let's take a look at the 5 year survival rate for people with breast cancer who received the appropriate treatments. The best indicator of the prognosis is based on the clinical stage of breast cancer.
