The Air Jordan 28 (XX8) was officially unveiled in New York City on Monday night. The tightly kept secret was finally seen for the first time after months of speculation and very vague teasers that revealed little to nothing of the actual shoe. The sneaker itself is shrouded in a cover that gives it a mysterious look and hides all of the technology in the shoe, which happens to be a very bright green when it is unzipped. While a majority of the sneaker is covered up (you can wear it unzipped in casual settings and the visible "2" and "3" on the inside of the shroud seems indicate that was a conscious part of the design), the major breakthroughs that many people will not see visually but feel when they wear it is the Jordan Flight Plate, which is an evolution of Zoom Air. Also a featured part of the shoe is the Dynamic Fit technology that works in tandem with the laces for a lockdown feel that does not get in the way of actually playing in them. Also on hand for the event were the likes of Spike Lee and Carmelo Anthony along with designer Tinker Hatfield. The inspiration behind the shoe was combat and motorcycle gear along with Michael Jordan's game, which some considered stealthy as well. One of the taglines of the XX8 is "by the time you see us, it's already too late," and that undoubtedly plays into the mythos of the shoe. No release date was given for the Air Jordan XX8 at the event and no price was revealed as well. Russell Westbrook was also in attendance to not only talk about the shoe but to also announce that he will be wearing them against the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday. While several Jordan Brand athletes are expected to wear the Air Jordan XX8 throughout the season, Westbrook will be the featured athlete. Stay tuned here for more from the event including pictures and actual on feet impressions of the shoes. But as long. The Covies' own (even slimmer) chance of title glory ended with Castlebar Celtic's emphatic victory over Iorras, but they extended their unbeaten run to eight games in the league. Going into the final weekend of the season, know a home win over Ballina Town will secure them the runners up spot. United burst out of the traps early on and on four minutes they took a deserved lead, albeit with a goal that had an air of good fortune about it. Vinny O'Malley collected the ball on the halfway line and he found Austin O'Malley on the far touchline. A quick ball released Alan Carroll down the left. He crossed for David Cameron, who squared the ball across the face of goal before the unfortunate Danny Broderick turned the ball into his own net. Moments later it could and probably should have been 2 0. Carroll found Cameron again and his cross put the ball on a plate for Phil Keegan, but the ball somehow managed to roll under his foot and away to safety. It was a huge let off for the visitors, who had to win to keep their title hopes alive. They created a good chance when a loose ball found its way to Nicky Pilbrow but it came at a difficult height for him and he blazed over Gary Cunningham's crossbar. Then came probably the most audacious effort of the season when the ball popped up to Vinny O'Malley 40 yards from goal. The front man decided to have a go on the volley and he was desperately unlucky as 'keeper Alvin McCallig managed to tip the ball over his crossbar to ensure his side were still in the game at half time. Whatever was said in the dressing room must have worked, as the visitors began the second half with the bit between their teeth. They had a penalty shout turned down when Brian Gallagher went down in the box after coming together with Martin Geraghty, but their frustration lifted six minutes into the second half. A long throw in by Gallagher found the head of Paul Ryan, whose glancing header flew into the bottom corner. now were playing much better, and 's Joe Lawless nearly turned a good cross from Broderick into his own net. Broderick then hit the bar with a spectacular effort from 25 yards as grew in confidence. However, soon settled down and after 72 minutes they took the lead in some style. Young winger Alan Carroll went on a mazy run before being taken down. Danny Scahill stepped up to take the free kick and fired the ball into the bottom corner. United's Darren Hoban then set up tenacious midfielder Pat Fitzgerald, who fired narrowly over. had a real chance in the closing stages when former Galway United player Derek Glynn was played through on goal. Gary Cunningham came outside his box and took down the striker. The away side appealed for a red card, but after consultation with his assistant Jimmy Cawley, referee Michael McCay showed the goalkeeper yellow. Broderick took the subsequent free kick, but Cunningham redeemed himself with a fine save. dealt comfortably with late pressure to ensure that second place is in their own hands and the title is going to Castlebar United G Cunningham, J Smith, A O'Malley, J Lawless, M Geraghty, A Carroll, D Scahill, P Fitzgerald, D Cameron, V O'Malley, P Keegan. 136085 140 Air Jordan 1 Retro White University Blue,Discus and Shot Put ShoesUser Rating: / 1 PoorBest Outline of BusinessWritten by vivilin Monday, 07 May 2012 20:14 Track and field is an extremely diverse sport because it offers such a wide variety of events. For each event, it is important to select the appropriate shoes designed to enhance your abilities. Maximize your performance by training in comfortable shoes and wearing specialized shoes designed to elp you excel in your event. Compete at your best by utilizing the ideal shoe to propel you towards your goal. Long Distance ShoesFor long distances, try to wear shoes that are comfortable and lightweight. The farther and longer you run, the more important it is to minimize any excess weight you may be carrying. Long distance shoes are made of materials that are extremely light yet supportive and comfortable. Spikes Nike Mercurial Vapor Safariare also commonly added to the bottom of competitive shoes to enhance the traction on the track surface and improve your speed. Sprinting SpikesSprinting is an art of propelling your body forward as fast as you can. This requires you spend as little time on each step and minimal contact with the surface. The natural sprinting technique places most of the impact on the toe side of your foot and barely any on your heel. Sprinting spikes are formed so that they are stiff and arched to heavily favor the toe side of the foot and contain nominal support on your heel. Furthermore, shoemakers strive to enhance your speed with the addition of numerous spikes on the toe portion of the sole. Jumping and Javelin ShoesLong jumpers and triple jumpers typically use sprinting spikes because speed is the main component you capitalize on for these events. High jump shoes are very light so they do not add additional weight and hinder your performance. On the other hand, javelin shoes are more bulky and have a high top to support the ankle from the abrupt stop used to launch the javelin. Discus and Shot Put ShoesThese shoes are very different than all other types of track shoes Mercurial Vapor Superfly II FG. In general, they have smooth soles consisting of rubber or similar material as opposed to spikes. This type of surface enables the thrower to spin quickly before releasing the shot put or discus which is a common technique used to maximize the distance thrown. Forgot login? Presumably while standing in front of a massive, sparking Jacob's ladder, these scientists also announced their plans to create the first artificial hamburger later this year, mixing artificial muscle, artificial fat and presumably a hint of love into a single lump of horrible. Time travelers arriving from later this year have yet to come back and warn us away from such a folly, but they are certainly en route. In a way, this shouldn't surprise us too much: Dutch cuisine is well known for its use of ingredients like dried fish, mayonnaise and despair, so news that those wooden shoed madmen were creating another culinary abomination is perfectly within character. But it's their use of advanced genetic technology that raised our eyebrows, especially given our history of fabricating scare stories about modern science to drum up business for our Cracked brand Apocalypse Kitz. C: I'll bet, I'll bet. We don't report on the world so much as pick at it and mock it and, oftentimes while doing so, befoul it. C: Like imagine the BBC, if the BBC got urine on the things it reports on. That's Cracked. C: So with that out of the way and you still in the room, I guess my first question is to find out what exactly you're doing here. Re: this artificial meat business really? MP: Really. We're really making artificial meat. MP: This is kind of a strange interview. C: Well, you're kind of a strange looking guy. (checks notes) So what, if you're not fucking test tubes, do you think you're doing here? MP: Basically, we're using a technique that cultivates stem cells from a cow and forces them to turn into muscle cells. C: These are the same stem cells that have been in the news the last few years because of the controversies, correct? C: It was spider men, wasn't it? You guys were using stem cells to create spider men? MP: Those are human stem cells you're thinking of, and I don't think anyone's trying to create spider men. C: Because you have to understand just how incredibly lucky we were with Spider man. He was a very responsible kid. You give the powers of a spider to most people, and, well. Watch out. MP: That's not really what we're . MP: I can assure you that we're not doing anything like that at all. Just creating meat. C: I guess then that my next question is: why? I mean, cows have been making beef for more than 80 years. Why change that now? MP: It's because it takes an enormous amount of grain, and consequently, energy, to get beef from a cow. The method we've created uses a fraction of that energy. And because the number of people who want to eat meat is growing rapidly, a more efficient source of meat will be very valuable in the near future. C: That is disappointingly sane. You're sure you're not doing this to please ancient meat lords who only you can see? C: I've got to tell you, I've got mixed feelings about this. C: Well, as a protector of humanity, I'm pleased to see that you are seemingly sane . MP: There is no way you're a protector of humanity. C: Everyone who works for Cracked is a protector of humanity. It's kind of a thing we do. We have this conference room with a TV on the wall and we sit there and watch the news on mute and pretend we're the Super Friends. MP: (massive look of confusion) C: Anyways . the thing that really concerns me is the way you're misusing your creation. The people of the earth don't need your meat genesis engine to feed them. C: No. They need it as a symbol. As a sign that the world is a stupid and hilarious and beautiful place. C: If somehow we could convince the world that you're a mad scientist, and that you've created an artificial cow that you intend to ride around on and make yee haw sounds, like an artificial cowboy . MP: That doesn't make sense. That doesn't make at least two different types of sense. C: . I think that'd make a lot of people smile and, consequently, end some wars. All the wars? Perhaps if you wore a tiny little cowboy hat at the same time. 136085 140 Air Jordan 1 Retro White University Blue We use the SmartKnit AFO socks an I can say enough good things abut them, they are great. We get 4 pairs with each new set of AFOs covered by insurance, so make sure to ask when you get new AFOs (we use Hanger). They are light weight, completely seam free, anti microbial and wick sweat away very effectively. Well worth it in my opinion. Samantha has been molded for her new pair of afo's and we are using a new company to us, called Level 4 Orthotics, and the orthotist came out to the house and everything, i was very impressed. I didn't know there was a such thing where they come to you. But he mentioned that they provide a pair of shoes and some afo socks with every new pair of afo's. So i'm excited to see everything and get to try them out. i don't know the brand name of the socks yet, he says they keep moisture off the skin and are seemless. I'll let you know how they work. James 4/3/06 Samantha 8/4/08 w/spina bifida. These are so much more affordable then the SmartKnits, they are very thin and breathable. I sent a question in to the company and received a wonderful, informative e mail back from the orthotist who designed them. I thought I'd include it here because I think it's pertinent to your question. Hope it helps: Hello Kristin, thank you for your interest in my AFO Socks. In answer to your question re: wicking and anti microbial. Be very careful as you and your very young son become consumers of the orthotic and orthopedic community for kids with special needs. There is an abundance of marketing hype re: the needed anti microbial properties of socks to be worn with AFO's. I have fit thousands of kids over the last 35 years as an Orthotist in Ottawa, Canada. Mibrobial issues or fungal issues are almost non existant. This is definitely not a required property of a sock and I can not reflect on any science that might authenticate such claims by a sock vendor or manufacturer. The wicking properties is another advertised claim, but one must realize that the kiddies wear these socks under a solid layer or plastic which is very snug fitting. Most wicking properties will not impact the wearer as wicking implies removing moisture to a layer further from the skin surface where the moisture can then evaporate, this evaporation will be obviously hindered by the plastic AFO. Do not worry, as you will find that a well fitted sock without fabric wrinkles, with a reasonable percentage of cotton, with or without a toe seam, and of a height to fold over top of AFO preferably, will work just fine. I have found that the sock is reasonably easy to find in a kids clothing department for the very young like your litlle guy, and you may not need a specialty product yet. have fitted my product and one of identical composition for many years and the feedback from many families is all good. you use my little measurement guide on the product page you can assess my sizing which I think may be large for your boy. truly do not want to discourage you, but just offer some honest advice from someone who has been enjoying pediatric orthotics for a long time.
