The Arc'teryx Miura 45 is a climbing gear pack that is fully padded to provide structure and has a full zipper closure so you can access your gear without sorting through everything and the pack doubles as a rope bucket. An interior gear sling helps keep protection handy. Guide books and daily essentials fit nicely in the twin flat pockets in the front of the pack. The Miura opens completely flat, and you can configure it as a top access pack or use it as a side opening travel bag. Gear is easily accessible especially with the interior gear loop. The pack is hydration compatible, and there is an interior zippered compartment. On the outside of the Miura, in addition to the twin front pockets, it also has a single top pocket and bungee attachment system for extra gear. The Miura 45 is one of those packs that make it so your climbing gear is much more organized and not such chaos. The internal gear loop was fantastic to clip quickdraws on, extra carabiners, belay devices, climbing shoes and any other protection that was needed for climbing. Instead of pulling out a sling full of gear that settled at the bottom of a pack, it was easily accessible when unzipping the bag. I was able to pack a 60 meter rope in addition to all the gear. Extra layers easily fit into the pack as well. The pack is really quite spacious and will hold a great deal of equipment in an orderly fashion. The webbing hip belt and adjustable sternum strap helped keep the pack in place. The fact that it opened completely flat made it so much less of a pain to prepare for climbing. It was so nice not to have to dig for my draws and climbing shoes. Everything was in the same place that it was packed and it was no hassle getting everything out that I needed. There are two side grab handles on the Miura for quick transport over short distances, and this made it really convenient to just grab and go to the next route. The abrasion resistant fabric was definitely durable and despite being dragged over several areas and different types of rock, the pack didn't tear. The Miura 45 is an ideal crag pack. It's one that is highly recommended for anyone who is looking for a pack that can carry what you need for a few days of climbing. It's like a mini organized closet space specially made for your climbing needs and will spare you from having to pull every single piece of gear out to find what you need.
