A man who admits to committing an armed robbery at a Subway shop did so because the Subway diet that was advertised for years by Jared Fogle didn't work for him and he just wanted his money back. Zachary Rapheal Torrance said that he followed the same Subway diet that Jared claimed to follow to lose 200 pounds, but it was a failure when he tried it, according to MSN News on Nov. 1. Jared Fogel became a spokesperson for Subway diet a few years back after losing more than 200 pounds. He claimed he was able to do this by eating two low fat foot long Subways daily, which he conveyed to the diet crazed public through the Subway ads. When Torrance, 18, gave the Subway diet a go, it was a failure and apparently he was furious enough about not succeeding on this diet that he held up the Alabama Subway he had frequented at gun point to get his money back. This wasn't an excuse Torrance pulled out of the air. During his interrogation, "the detective felt like he was being serious," cites MSN. Police gave the description of the robber on Facebook as a "black male with a black jacket, white shirt, blue jeans and orange shoes, about six feet tall and 200 pounds and with shoulder length dreadlocks." When Torrance walked into Walmart, this is just what he was wearing, so he was easy to identify from both the picture and the online description. Police are looking at him as a possible suspect in four other Subway robberies, according to Sky News on Saturday. He was arrested in Walmart after a shopper recognized him from the picture that was posted online and called he police. Social media is really one great tool for police, it is like having thousands of eyes on the lookout for any suspect posted online. In Torrance's case, he was arrested on charges of first degree robbery and he is being held on $250,000 bond in Jefferson County Jail. He allegedly ambushed and murdered two Pennsylvania state troopers and could face the death penalty if convicted. MC: If I were Yahoo I wouldn't be comforted by the knowledge of where companies that choose a reactionary stance against these groundswell movements usually end up. Flexible working is consistently a key priority for top performers, and there is no reason for productivity not to rise when teleworking is handled well. If a company is concerned that they are not getting value from telecommuting employees they would be better placed to put the resources into learning how to gain advantage from this way of working rather than stifling it. Venom Green 10s,I'm back home after spending last week in New York City. There really is no better way to start the New Year than a trip to New York. Many of you might think that is better to go to the Carribean, or Hawaii, but I get my juice from the energy in New York. I stayed in a pretty flaunty hotel during my visit, they had people who saw to it that your every need was well taken care of. Well, not really every need, just almost. The funny thing about my trip was that I went here to find inspiration, yet I have not found any in the real upscale places. The places that nobody has ever recommend or written about is the one thing that I love most about New York. Three doors down from my hotel is a small Cuban restaurant that opens at 6 AM. As soon as you open the door you are transported to another time and place. The music is blaring, the cooks are singing and dancing, and they remember your name and what you like to eat. So as soon as I walked in, they greeted and waved, then one of the girls approached me and said, "Spanish coffee, cream, sugar, and cinnamon, right?" I just nodded. Then the grillman said, "Cuban, or ham, egg and cheese sandwich?" I ordered the Cuban one which is really one of their best items here. It's not the phony imitation you'll at many places in Florida. So while waiting for your ordered breakfast, they will provide you first with some starter food like fried plantains, as your breakfast comes in stages, and you'll only get them when it's ready. Meanwhile, more and more drivers and deliveries are coming in and out, bringing in everything under the sun, they all get food and drinks before they go. Their customers come in different faces and shapes, different professions, from cops, construction workers, young, old, short and tall, skinny and stout, and all New Yorkers either by birth or assimilation. This kind of self generated and natural humor is outstandingly different from the pretty elegant or fashionable joints, where laughter is hardly ever heard. I noticed the absence of one regular girl in that restaurant after a while. I asked the grillman about the girl or where she was. And I learned that she was mugged two nights ago on her way home from a party. She ran into a couple of junkies, she fought back, she was beaten and bruised her face. She could not win, she didn't have enough power to bring them down. Stun guns and pepper spray, are for the most part illegal in New York. They would have stopped this attack in seconds, and a real working girl would not have had to miss work because of a street beating. I told the grillman to hold my table, and that I'd be back in few minutes. I went to the hotel and loaded up a few samples in a bag, then went back to the joint. The grillman, (he's the owner too), and I had a little chat in the back, and I misplaced my bag of samples. My memory is really hazy these days. I forgot a couple of Wildfire Sprays, Hot Shots, and a box of Lipstick Pepper Spray. My loss is their gain, and there were enough tools to cover the whole crew. New York City is an incredible place, they have made many improvements to make it a nice and safe place to live, visit and work. But still, everyone should have the right to protect themselves all the time.

And with hard surfaces, they no longer had to endure the ugly, dirty pathways associated with carpeting. So, the additional expense seemed worth it. They found that many hard surface types were just as difficult (if not more) to clean than carpet. Simply mopping the floors didn't remove the ugly dirt that had collected in crevices and grout lines. Quieter, previously carpeted rooms suddenly became nosier because hard surfaces didn't absorb sound. And they found that there were more falls from coming indoors with damp shoe leather on rainy days. Children and the elderly were injured most commonly. Air currents created by foot traffic and air handling systems stirred settled dust back into the air, while carpeting did a better job of holding it in place. They found that they couldn't sweep their hard surfaces but had to mop, because sweeping stirred dust into the air. Additionally costs to maintain air ducts and filters also increased. While their hard surfaces endured longer than carpet; when people got bored of the same dcor changing out the expensive hard surface flooring was going to be a costly venture. Yes, they could buy new furniture and drapes but these new furnishing somehow didn't look all that new in a room with old floors (that they were tired of looking at but had spent untold thousands more to install or replace compared to carpeting). In hind sight it appears that carpeting offers far more advantages than hard surfaces, which explains the increase in carpet sales. Still, it's also obvious that hard or soft there is no final solution to the floor maintenance problem. We must accept the fact that whatever covers the floor has to be cleaned and should be cleaned properly. Furthermore, proper maintenance is no job for a 'handyman.' It requires knowledge, expertise and caring.
