We are all excited for football season to begin. 9, some are curious about how local guys are faring in the professional ranks. So here a rundown of former Utah athletes in the NFL and CFL and how their respective seasons are going thus far. Today we start with former Weber State Wildcats. I know, I a total homer. Tim Toone: Shortly after being selected by the Detroit Lions as the final pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the wide receiver was wined and dined in sunny southern California. There he took part in Irrelevant Week, a tong in cheek celebration of the final draft pick, which benefits charitable organizations. In his NFL debut against the Pittsburgh Steelers in an Aug. 14 preseason game, Toone picked up two receptions for 23 yards in addition to one punt return for four yards. He had a moment to shine when third string quarterback Drew Stanton found Toone wide open on the goal line for an easy touchdown, but Stanton overthrewhim by about five yards. In his second preseason game against the Denver Broncos on Aug. 21, Toone was only targeted once as a receiver, but he had one carry for six yards and took on the bulk of Detroit special teams duties. He had a pair of kick returns for 42 yards and three punt returns for 45 yards. He will likely see more playing time on Friday versus the Atlanta Falcons. Super Bowl XLIV ring: Courtesy of Mailei facebook profile. Marcus Mailei: The New Orleans Saints fullback who is fresh off a Super Bowl victory over the Indianapolis Colts reportedly sat out several practices due to an undisclosed injury before New Orleans waived him on Aug. 20. Mailei inked a free agent deal with the Eagles in 2009 and was signed by the Saints from Philadelphia practice squad mid way through the season. He suffered a season ending injury, but still participated in Super Bowl XLIV festivities with his team. The NFL journey may not be over for Mailei yet for he can still sign with another team but if it is, he still took home a Super Bowl ring. Folsom: Folsom, a linebacker who was drafted in the seventh round by the Miami Dolphins in 2009 was recently named to Miami second team defense in an Aug. 10 release of its depth chart. In the Dolphins preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Aug. 14, he recorded two tackles. In his second preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Aug. 21, he tied for a team high five total tackles. Edds for the season, so Folsom chances of grabbing the fourth and final linebackers roster spot have increased greatly. David Hale: The Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman who was drafted in the fourth round in 2008 suffered an injury during an Aug. 16 practice and his status is still up in the air. Reports say Hale bruised his tailbone after he got tangled up with 345 pound defensive tackle and former Highland High Standout Haloti Ngata in a pass blocking drill, and Ngata landed on top of Hale, who then remained on the turf for nearly 10 minutes before he was carefully carted off the field. hale hasn practiced all week and is questionable for Saturday preseason nod against the New York Giants. Pat McQuistan: The Dallas Cowboys lineman signed a restricted free agent tender worth $1.176 million in April and he is listed second on the Cowboys depth chart at right guard behind Pro Bowler Leonard Davis. So the Cowboys probably planto use McQuistan a lot in 2010. Paul McQuistan: After a stint with the Oakland Raiders, who drafted him in 2006, McQuistan was released in November 2009. The Jacksonville Jaguars quickly signed him within a few days. Outside of a brief scuffleduring a team workout in June, McQuistan has been fitting in well and getting plenty of reps inside during the preseason. He started in place of injured Eben Britton during a game against Philadelphia on Aug. 13. Bo Smith: The former Wildcats cornerback is still on the New York Jets active roster. He recorded one solo tackle versus the Giants on Aug. 16 and picked up three more solo tackles against Carolina on Aug. 21. Outside of that, I couldn track down any more info. I suppose only knows. Dimitri Tsoumpas: Another former WSU offensive lineman, Tsoumpas was picked second overall in the CFL draft in 2008 by the Calgary Stampeders. He started every game in 2009 and was named a West Division all star as well. Tsoumpas attended training camp with the Miami Dolphins this spring, but rejoined the Stampeders shortly after. On Aug. 3 he signed a long term contract extension with the club. But because of team policy, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Zac Carlson: The tackle was selected by the Hamilton Tiger Cats in the 2009 CFL supplemental draft. After a season in Hamilton, Carlson signed with the Stampeders in 2010 to back up Tsoumpas. He is currently on the team practice squad. The first place Stampeders currently hold a 6 1 record in the CFL and they take on lowly British Columbia on Friday. They want Wilson's scrambling and running to be a component of what they do offensively. But much of what Wilson has done on the ground is because of the pressure he has faced because of Seattle playing with a makeshift offensive line. Down three starters on the offensive line for the past two weeks, the Seahawks survived the pressure brought by the defenses in Houston and Indianapolis. And now they may be turning the corner of health with the expectation that All Pro center Max Unger will be back on Sunday against Tennessee. Seattle has allowed seven sacks the past two weeks and Wilson has taken some big hits, but the experience for some of the Seahawks young linemen called upon to fill in for veterans has been valuable. Much better than the week before but you just hope to keep getting better as long as we keep playing with this group and they are. So that is the key, Seattle assistant coach Tom Cable said. Unger is expected to return this week after being out two games with a triceps injury. Starting left tackle Russell Okung tore a ligament in his toe in Week 2 against San Francisco and is on short term injured reserve. Right tackle Breno Giacomini's timetable is unknown after he had minor knee surgery in late September. Those absences have created a mishmash offensive line. Rookies are being called upon earlier than expected, veterans are trying to fill in at new positions and as a result the Seahawks offensive execution has been choppy the past two weeks. Paul McQuistan moved from left guard to left tackle to fill in for Okung. James Carpenter went from being in a rotation at left guard to be the starter at the position and rookie Michael Bowie stepped in at right tackle with Giacomini out. And Lemuel Jeanpierre started at center the two games that Unger missed. They have improved, even though the pressure on Wilson has been significant. Cable said the Seahawks line allowed five defenders to come free against the Colts after allowing 11 against Houston. The combination of the new guys has made it challenging to be right all the time, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. That's just to get the scheme right and calls right and then physically you have to come through and make your blocks as well and combinations and things have to be carried out well. Within experience there is some slippage in there, some spacing in there that we don't want. I'm really hoping Max will secure the calls as we said and we can get everybody on the right guys and identification is really clear and precise and then we still have to pick up our stuff. We still have to make the blocks. The offensive line changes have led to an inconsistent offensive performance. Seattle went just 2 of 12 on third downs against Indianapolis, leading to drives stalling and the Seahawks having to settle for field goal attempts four times. The 17 percent conversion rate on third down was the worst for the Seahawks offense since Oct. 23, 2011, against Cleveland when Charlie Whitehurst was quarterbacking Seattle in a 6 3 loss to the Browns. Wilson rushed for a career high 102 yards against the Colts and had 77 yards a week earlier against the Texans. While Seattle expects Wilson's running and scrambling to be part of its offense, the amount of pressure he's seen and times he's been forced to run out of necessity is more than they would like. Of Wilson's 102 yards against the Colts, 91 were considered scramble yards. Against the Texans, 65 of his 77 yards were off scrambles. When I run, it's really trying to make a positive play out of it, get 4 yards, get 5 yards. If I can get more, obviously, that's great, too, Wilson said. Just try to get a positive play, establish the play. Sometimes when you drop back and everything's covered, things aren't there. You try to get the ball back to the line of scrimmage and get down and move on to the next play. Enjoy Big Discount Doernbecher 10s,Air Jordan 10 Powder Blue 2014 Maintaining a romantic relationship can be a lot of work. For men, they have to constantly make their girlfriends happy and loved to ensure that they do not fall out of love. A happy and well loved girlfriend will translate to a better romantic life for the both of you. Making your girlfriend happy can range from simple to complex and outright costly. Nevertheless, what you do is not as important as the thought behind it. If your girlfriend values your thoughtfulness over the action, then she is definitely worth hanging on to. Focus on her. The simplest thing you can do to make your woman happy is through genuinely listening and noticing her. Listen to what she says and notice what she does. Compliment her on the little things. This will give her the impression that you care about her. Women are sensitive. So, if she gets a new hairdo, make sure to notice it and compliment her on it. She probably got that new hair style for you as well. Get her flowers. Go to your local or online flower shop and order a bouquet to be delivered to her at an unexpected time. This should provide an unpleasant surprise especially if you have not sent her flowers in awhile. Treat her. Bring her to a beauty parlor or spa. Treat her to a massage and a beauty treatment. Make sure to stay and wait for her. If possible, join her for a couple's experience. Date her. Take her out to a good dinner at her favorite places. Top it off with a romantic movie or a walk. Bring her to places you frequented when you started going out. Take her on a trip. Arrange a romantic weekend getaway where it is only the two of you. Wine, dine, and romance the hell out of her. Remember to go to a place she will appreciate. Buy her stuff. Some girls can be high maintenance and materialistic. Buy her the newest and trendiest stuff out in the market. Whether it is jewelry, gadgets, or shoes, buy the best for her. It should make her feel loved and special. If your girl is into technology, buy her a new laptop or the new iPhone. Materials can provide short happiness but it is happiness all the same. Spend more time with her. Most of the time girls can feel neglected because you spend more time on other things than with her. Take a day off from work or your friends and spend some quality time with her. The day with her does not have to be fancy. The important thing is that you are hers for that period of time. Be intimate and romantic during your day together. Make sex a two way street. A lot of the time, men can neglect their partners in bed. They focus more on their own satisfaction more. Sex and intimacy is a two way street. Make sure to satisfy her. In fact, you should live to satisfy her. Do not worry, your girl will surely return the favor. Girls can be easy to please. If you are a more complex and romantic individual, you may even want to step it up and make the effort with more extravagant expressions of love just to make your girl happy. It is entirely up to you. Keep in mind that for most women, it is the thought that really counts.
