There may be times when it seems as if you going against what others want you to do, but by being in and true to your dharma. You actually creating what best for everyone and others. To keep things looking bright, clean and inviting there is a need for a daily maintenance routine. The sheer number of shoppers entering, shopping and then leaving is rough on everything. Then there are the shoppers who come with muddy, dirt caked shoes and boots, children who run wildly about scattering merchandise, candy wrappers, and other debris everywhere. There are those shoppers who change their mind and drop items they have decided not to purchase right where they stand. If you are opening a dollar store a good strategy to keep cleaning and maintenance under control might be to implement a daily store maintenance checklist. Tasks to include on the checklist are: Task 1) General sales floor organization and safety. Implement a store walk through program. Be sure employees cover every aisle in the sales area routinely throughout the day. Displaced items should be returned to their proper location and everything should be properly straightened. Task 2) Floor cleanliness can also be covered during routine dollarstore walk throughs. It is important to keep the floors clean to avoid permanent stains and to eliminate potential slip hazards as well. Task 3) Cash register area cleanliness and organization is extremely important. Cash registers act as a funnel for traffic and all purchases obviously occur there as well. As a result unpurchased and moved items accumulate quickly. Floors and countertops become soiled. This is an area requiring constant attention. Task 4) Windows seems to be magnets for fingerprints. Make sure all windows running along walkways for your dollarstore are spot cleaned on a regular basis. Make sure 100% of the windows are thoroughly cleaned on a monthly basis as well. Task 5) Lights that are dim or burned out need to be replaced as soon as possible. Reduced lighting can result in reduced sales for that portion of your store. When opening a dollar store make it a practice to note dim and burned out lights either at opening or closing of your store each day. Then replace those bad lights as quickly as possible. Task 6) Store inspections for damage should be done routinely when opening a dollar store. Employees conducting store walk throughs can inspect for and report damage and excessive wear after each walk through. More thorough inspections should be completed on a weekly and monthly basis as well. Make sure to inspect for flooring that is damaged, chipped or lose. Don't forget to inspect walls for damage. Damaged or broken display fixtures are everyone's responsibility. There's nothing to compare to the unexpected surprise and potential injury to shoppers when a loaded end cap collapses just as they pass. I'm a golf instructor here at the Nyberg Wood GolfTEC in Tualatin, Oregon. Today, we're going to be talking about weight shift from front, or back foot to our front foot in our down swing. In one of our previous videos we talked about how we want to keep our weight on our instep at the top of our back swing and not let our weight shift to the outer part. That way we're loaded up very nicely on this inside part. We have something to push off and get to our front foot in our down swing. So, really what we want to do essentially is once we get to the top, almost like we're pushing off over to our front leg, that's the first move of weight shift. Then we start turning our body and getting over to our front leg as it straightens out in our down swing here. So, one of the motions that really shows this really well, that do already or you've probably done in the past is throwing a ball. The motion's very similar. You take a ball in one hand, you rock back to the back foot, and as you throw forward, your weight gets to your front foot, very similar to what we're doing here with the golf swing. One of the drills here that, if you're having problems with this, you can try and over exaggerate, try and get your weight really far through. We call it the Gary Player walk through drill. And as you get over to the top here, we start really getting our weight over here and getting to a point where as we come through to finish, we almost fall forwards and kind of walk through the shot. So, it looks something like this. Now, that's the proper weight shift sequence for the down swing and that should help you, those two drills. Then in a blink, the lead was gone when Fielder connected for his sixth homer of the year. The free swinging Braves struck out 39 times in those three games against the Tigers, but Minnesota has done a good job making contact all season. The Twins entered the day with only 150 strikeouts, the second fewest in baseball, and they pecked away early against Scherzer. Willingham opened the scoring in the first with a solo shot, his fifth homer of the year. Two singles and a wild pitch put men on second and third in the second, and an RBI groundout by Aaron Hicks made it 2 0. But Pelfrey couldn't hold the Tigers down for long enough, and once Detroit took the lead, the Twins didn't come close to scoring on Scherzer. Closer Jose Valverde was given the night off after pitching the previous two days.
