In 2004, became a pioneer of the barefoot movement by launching the first minimalist shoe with a patented, ultra thin puncture resistant sole that offers maximum sensory feedback (proprioception), and maximum protection. made its local debut in the Atlanta Shoe Market in 2010, presenting Evo, a minimalist shoe with 4mm thick TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) outsole, offering resistance to puncture and a honeycomb motive for traction and decor. Evo may not be the lightest in its category (the weight is about 8oz) but a very flexible outsole provides a real feeling of barefoot running. The shoe has been road tested for up to 700 miles. The honeycomb motive continues throughout the breathable upper (combination of TPU and nylon mesh). The lining material the shoe is padded with is soft to touch and resembles soft suede. The pull tab on the back allows an easy on/off or hanging between uses. The removable insole is made from 100% recycled memory foam. It contains a moisture controlling bamboo charcoal compound to keep feet feeling fresher. Evo is wide enough to accommodate even D width, but runners with narrow feet should not feel the discomfort. Afterall, the prolonged use of Evo will help to strengthen the muscles of the feet, making feet stronger and a bit wider. exercises precaution to warn every athlete not to jump into a sudden lifestyle change. Only well seasoned and experienced barefoot runners found no trouble in adjusting to these shoes. The majority of runners are up for a new challenge, transferring from full support, cushioned shoes. The old rule of "an organ not being used tends to disappear" is very much in play. With 200,000 nerve endings, 33 major muscles, 28 bones, 19 ligaments, the human foot is a biomechanical masterpiece. Some modern running shoes offer technologies that take over natural functions of the human foot, weakening the anatomical structure in the process. The first impression after putting them on is often a feeling of unrestricted freedom of motion. However, untrained feet will start hurting rather soon and these signals should never be ignored. To help all new Evo users in making a smooth transition, joined forces with Lee Saxby, biomechanics expert, endorsed by Chris McDougall. A free step by step guide to reducing injury, improving performance and reawakening the skill of running and walking is available on the website. With 50,000 pairs of Evo sold (and counting), we are about to see some changes in approach to running workouts. Yep. As much as I would love to wear running shoes or even something like indoor soccer shoes. I know how fast concrete tees just tear them up. Seems like a solid sole and, more importantly, the way the sole connects to the rest of the shoe is the biggest deal when looking for disc golf shoes that last. I noticed Will Schusterick wears running type shoes and he also a big advocate of moving away from concrete tees and towards artificial turf tees. I think the movement is gaining some momentum in Europe because Discmania just released a shoe specifically for turf tees and NOT concrete (it even specified in the description of the shoe). It pretty much the same design but the Marshall look to have more ventilation. They have water proof ones too I love mine and my buddy picked some up and is praising hen as well. They also happen to be the model they are giving out at the bigger tourneys. Those red and white ones from japan and they were supposed to be given out at worlds but there was a shipment error. The targhees might be better for what you need but thought I add an alternative to a very similar shoe. I checked before posting this an they have the japan open ones for sale. They are called the kozo. Also the nasu is keens other dg shoe. If you compare them to the Marshall it the same shoe. The best shoes to get, honestly, are the ones you feel most comfortable hiking around in. Some friends of mine wear sandals and tee off barefoot. Remember that the point of shoes is to protect your feet from sharp things, not to suffocate them. Crucial to these studies is walking stride: how your foot strikes the ground. I am 6 2" and a marching band veteran, and as such I roll my feet when moving. With this stride, I have not experienced any negative effects due to my FiveFingers. I typically use them only for disc golf and hiking forest trails, so they are worn for 2 5 hours at a time. If I camping, I may wear them all day, depending on where I am camping (for example, at Burning Man I wore them exclusively for the two weeks I was there). With this personal anecdotal evidence, I find that they work well for me. Did you know that it is estimated that Americans have 1.5 billion pairs of unused shoes lying in their closets? Did you know that every 7 seconds, Soles4Souls Inc. gives away another pair of shoes to someone in need. This charity has earned glowing endorsements from Hollywood stars and professional athletes, but the people that truly make the non profit organization effective are those who clean out their closets to personally drop off their 'gently worn' shoes at a participating location, such as Woodland Middle School. "We can use the shoes taking up space in your closet to change the world one pair at a time," said Founder and CEO of Soles4Souls, Wayne Elsey. "We need our partners in East Point and Atlanta, GA to 'STEP UP' and get behind our call for action. It's one of the most simple yet profound gifts you can make, because it will greatly improve someone's life in the most difficult of times," he said. Soles4Souls is a Nashville based charity that collects shoes from the warehouses of footwear companies and the closets of people like you. The charity distributes these shoes to people in need, regardless of race, religion, class, or any other criteria. Since 2005, Soles4Souls has given away nearly 12 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes (currently donating one pair every 7 seconds.) The shoes have been distributed to people in over 125 countries, including Kenya, Thailand, Nepal and the United States. Soles4Souls has been featured in Runner's World, Ladies' Home Journal, National Geographic's Green Guide, and The New York Times. It has appeared on CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, BBC, CNN and thousands of regional news outlets across North America. Soles4Souls is a 501(c)(3) recognized by the IRS and donating parties are eligible for tax advantages. Anyone can join our cause, and we need your help. The idea behind gifts of shoes is nothing new to the Soles4Souls team, as they coordinated relief efforts for the Asian Tsunami and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, netting over 1 million pairs donated for these disasters. Low Price Up To 68 Off Women Nike Free Run 4.0 V2 Black University Red,Men Nike Free Run 2 Shield Grey Black Turquoise Grey If you were a shareholder of DSW (NYSE:DSW) in 2014, chances are you're looking at a large unrealized loss. Shares were hit hard by more than 27% in a one day drop back in May, due to poor first quarter earnings and guidance. However, with shares now trading 35% lower in 2014 and new growth initiatives coming, investors may want to try DSW shares on and see if the shoe fits. Canada expansion could be the biggest reason to be bullish going forward. Several large retailers have failed or missed with their Canadian expansion. The DSW plan seems to be going in the right direction. The company acquired a 49.2% equity (50% voting power) interest in Town Shoes Limited, the largest branded footwear retailer in Canada. Town Shoes has 200 locations across the country. Along with the acquisition, DSW is also bringing its namesake brand to the greater Toronto area. Two planned DSW stores will each be 20,000 square feet, representing the largest shoe stores in the country. Between DSW stores and Town Shoes stores, DSW is likely to see significant market share in the country. A new e commerce platform is also being rolled out to capture additional Canadian sales. DSW has 410 stores in 42 states and remains committed to having more than 500 stores across the country. Two new plans may bring that figure closer to reality. DSW launched two small format sales back in the fourth quarter and sees this becoming a growing trend. A typical DSW is 22,000 square feet. The new smaller stores are 10,000 square feet on average. The smaller stores feature the same core brands and products, but a smaller overall selection. The company is likely happy to trade selection and convenience for margin improvement and a possible sales turnaround. DSW is also launching its Yellow Box Footwear brand into the retail channel. A concept store in California opened last week with another California store planned for September. Yellow Box has been on shelves since 1998, but was only recently given its own retail store in June in Miami, Florida. The Yellow Box brand is most recognized for its jeweled sandals and has been a staple in the footwear category for more than 15 years. First quarter sales fell 0.4%. Same store sales fell 3.7% due to heavy promotions and weather concerns. Adjusted earnings per share were $0.42. The company ended the quarter with $548 million in cash. While this quarter was bad and the guidance mentioned below was likewise worse than expected, I find it hard to believe it warranted a 25%+ drop in the share price. Analysts on Yahoo Finance see the company posting earnings per share of $1.55 in fiscal 2015. This would be a decline from the $1.88 the company posted last fiscal year. Revenue is expected to increase 2.7% to $2.4 billion. For fiscal 2016, analysts see $1.77 in earnings per share from revenue of $2.6 billion, an increase of 6.5%. DSW issued new guidance for the full fiscal year. The company now sees 2015 earnings per share coming in a range of $1.45 to $1.60. Shares of DSW trade at close to $28. This is towards the low end of the 52 week range ($23.45 to $47.55). As you can see, shares are down significantly from their yearly highs. The company also pays out a healthy 2.7% dividend yield, while investors await the turnaround that is likely coming. Retail is hurting and shoes are no different. DSW has already done a good job of rebounding from the first quarter and projected sales slump by aggressively expanding in Canada through its partnership with Town Shoes and the new mega stores. In the United States, DSW is recognizing the trend to open smaller stores and grow its Yellow Box brand through strong stores in large highly engaging markets. DSW remains a great retail turnaround play and with strong cash flow and price to sales of around 1, makes a great buyout play as well. (More.) Women Nike Free Run 4.0 V2 Black University Red For some of us, the little girl who loves her dolls is still hiding within. For many of us, though, she's not hiding; she's enjoying her collection every day. Doll collecting is a fascinating hobby. Whether you like porcelain dolls with elegant period costumes, baby dolls with lots of clothes, or the popular 18 inch brands such as American Girl, there are plenty out there to choose from. Part of the fun of doll collecting is the many different costumes and outfits you can find for them to wear. Updating outfits to match the season or the holiday is a fun way to keep your collection looking fresh. Red velvet Christmas dresses, Halloween costumes, traditional ethnic clothing, seasonal attire, pajamas, and bathing suits are just a few of the garments available. Bridal gowns, evening dresses and historical clothing are favorites of a lot of collectors. Hunting for precious little shoes, lacy undergarments, and other doll accessories to match the outfits is part of the fun. Purchasing furniture is a lovely way to display and arrange your collection. There are many delightful pieces to be found, both in specialty shops and on line. Some of these are period pieces, which are great for 18 inch dolls as well as many other types. Others are contemporary, and may match your own furniture or decorating style. Doll beds are available in many styles and sizes, from sweet, swinging cradles to bassinettes, bunk beds, four poster beds, and canopy beds. Pillows and bedding complete the look. But there are also kitchen tables, bistro tables, wooden hutches, dishes, high chairs, and play food. A doll tea party is a beautiful display for spring, or Mother's Day. Night stands, coffee tables, living room chairs, and lamps of all kinds are available for your pleasure. Including chests of drawers, armoires, and steamer trunks in your vignette is a great way to keep track of all the small pieces. By storing each doll's clothing together, it's simple to locate the desired outfit. Underclothes, socks and shoes are so tiny, and easily lost. Fortunately, bloomers, pantaloons, slips, chemises, and panties are easily replaceable at many companies. Tights and socks come in colors to match any outfit. Undershorts for boy dolls are also easy to find. Any of these items would make a unique and truly appreciated gift for a doll collector of any age. Vintage clothing is available from several manufacturers. Patterns are also available for those who like to sew, knit or crochet. Ice skates, cowgirl boots, bandannas, eyeglasses, purses, backpacks, earmuffs, brushes and jewelry are some of the more unusual items you can find for your collection. Looking for outerwear for your doll? Tailored jackets with matching hats, a fur jacket or stole with a hat, a trench coat with a matching tote, and hooded sweatshirts are all to be found. Many manufacturers make huge arrays of clothing and accessories created for specific doll sizes, especially for popular dimensions such as 18 inch dolls. With all the fun items and clothing available, there's no excuse not to indulge your love of doll collecting.
