It the off season for most young basketball players in the country right now and it makes me wonder what kids are doing with their time. I 38 years old and I still love playing basketball and working on my game. I also have serious regrets about how my basketball career went. I was one of the kids that worked hard on my game and even still, I wonder if all the time. I wish so bad I could go back and do certain things different which makes me pose the question, what are you doing today to be a better player? I ran into a High School friend of mine who decided that he didn want to play basketball his last year of High School. It been 20 years now and he still wishes he would played. Why didn he play? He had a girlfriend at the time and was very into his social life. He wanted to have his freedom each day after school instead of being tied down with practice. 20 years later and it still bothers him. The girlfriend is long gone and he doesn even remember what he did after school. It probably consisted of watching television and playing video games. What are you doing today to be a better player? What are you doing to insure that you won have any regrets 20 years from now? The opportunity to play organized basketball is a very short window in your life and you will most certainly look back in regret if you don take full advantage of it. The best players do what they have to do and then move on with life. That means that they get up early and get the work in before doing anything else. Usually we prioritize what important to us in and effort to make sure the important things get done first. Get up in the morning and get to a gym. If you have an issue with conditioning, then get out and do something else. Do some jump rope or organize some competitive scrimmage games. Do whatever you have to. What did I do to be a better player? I spent my summers in a church gym in my strength shoes. I jumped and ran and shot until I couldn feel my arms or legs. I shot off the dribble, off a jump stop and worked on both hands. Then I would go outside and run. I would run hills in my strength shoes until I wore them out. My motivation was getting that letter of intent that I had always dreamed of. I just wanted to sign with a Division I program. When I signed with the University of Utah it was one of the best days of my life. It felt like all the work had paid off and was worth it. But actually that where my regret comes in. Once I signed I felt like I was done. I felt like I had arrived. I had spent so much time with that as my focus that I became content. I thought I was good enough but really I wasn Set your sights on goals like scholarships but also set your sights on your potential and doing all that you can. The bottom line is living with regret is no fun. If you like basketball and you are good at it give it the best you got. You not going to have a young, strong and athletic body for the rest of your life. Don fool yourself into thinking that you got all the time in the world and that you get focused tomorrow. Tomorrow turns into next week, next week turns into next month and next month turns into next year. The window is too short for that. As kids, we had sneakers that we wore for everything from riding a bike to climbing a tree to playing baseball in the backyard. Now there are shoes for every sport and countless varieties to choose from. Asics, Nike, Mizuno, New Balance, Saucony these are just a few of the companies that sell running shoes. It's hard to pronounce these brands, let alone remember them. So how do you know which running shoes are right for you? We asked some fitness experts all of them runners how to buy running shoes. Here is their advice: Know Your Running ProfileThe best first step in finding the right running shoes is knowing what you will be doing with them, says Bruce Wilk, physical therapist and owner of The Runner's High, a running specialty store in Miami. Are you a jogger or a runner? Do you run 15 miles a week or 25? Do you run on trails, asphalt, or a treadmill? Are you training for a race? "A high school track runner is different than a middle aged marathoner," says Wilk. You also have to take into account your body type, he says. "A big round person is different than a narrow skinny person," says Wilk, and there are running shoes out there for every body type. Identify Your Running StyleKnow how you run, says Wilk. It's important to determine where a person first comes in contact with the ground. Is it the outside of the heel? Is it at the inside of the forefoot? "If the point of initial contact is mainly through the forefoot (as for many athletes and sprinters), then there's not a lot of shoe needed behind the forefoot," says Wilk. "Why would you want to have a lot of cushion in the heel when you're not going to spend any time there anyway?" If you're a forefoot runner, you should be wearing a running shoe like the Nike Vomero, which has most of its cushion in front. If you run from heel to toe, the Asics Gel Kayano might be the right running shoe for you. Be sure to identify any injuries you have developed from running, as well. Problems like shin splints, blisters, tendonitis, and plantar fasciitis often can be reversed with the proper fitting running shoes.

Not for everyone, sheepskin boots are definitely one of those you either love or hate, but team them with jeans, leggings or tights on chilly days and you'll be thankful you invested in them. If you buy a pair of real sheepskin boots you'll also be able to wear them in summer too; they're really cute with denim hot pants and floral day dresses. It goes without saying that wellies are a shoe wardrobe must, you don't want soggy wet feet in the pouring rain or deep snow, and that's where wellies come in. But don't worry, they don't need to be boring, there are lots of fun wellies around these days in funky patterns and bright shades. Go for a pair that will go with most your outfits, but don't be afraid to go for something funky, after all, that's what makes wellies so fun. If you tuck your jeans into wellies then why not choose a wide fitting pair with adjustable straps around the calves for a comfortable fit? Nike Roshe Run Women Grey Blue faster, keep going! Two years ago Masco lost in the Division 1 North final to Andover. Last season, a 15 5 campaign ended with a quarterfinal loss to Billerica. Romeo said he believes this group is determined to break through, and made a run to TD Garden. For one, he cites their mental toughness. the beginning of the season, coach asked me for one thing: He wants to get a number on the banner at the gym, said Femino, recalling an earlier conversation. promised him I will get him two numbers; the league title and a state title . . . that what we trying to do.
